The main reasons for errors during use of hardness testers
When the measurement error of the hardness tester is large, the inspection methods used by different types of hardness testers are as follows:
Rockwell hardness
- Use Rockwell hardness tester to check whether the indenter is damaged.
- Rockwell hardness tester cylinder speed is too fast or too slow. Is the cylinder short of oil
- Rockwell hardness tester to check whether the kilogram force of the weight is in place
- Is the Rockwell hardness tester lever deformed?
- Is the fine adjustment screw of Rockwell hardness tester loose?
- Is the standard Rockwell hardness block invalid?
- Is the motor of the electric model stuck?
- Damping damage
Leeb hardness tester
1 Aging of impact ball head
2 The connecting wire is broken
3 Software failure
4 The power supply voltage is not enough
5 The measurement material is too small
6 The hardness conversion table is not updated
7 The probe is not loaded and released slowly
8 The impact body is non-magnetic
9 Wrong material selection
10 insurance burnt
11 The surface finish of the workpiece is lower than that of slip 4

Brinell hardness tester
1 The pressure head is damaged
2 Motor failure
3 Weight limit deviation
4Micrometer failure reading does not return to zero
5 Hydraulic system failure
Vickers hardness tester
1 Micrometer failure reading does not return to zero
2 Turret screws loose
3 Damping and potentiometer are damaged
4 The weight is not placed firmly
5 The light source bulb does not light up
6 The level of hardness tester is not good
7 The pressure head is damaged
8 The material finish is too poor
9 Motor failure
