Definition of special inspection industry


Special inspection:
The “Special Equipment Safety Law” stipulates that special equipment products, components or new products and components of special equipment under trial production and new materials used in special equipment, if they need to be verified by type tests in accordance with the requirements of safety technical specifications, shall be subject to type tests by inspection agencies approved by the department responsible for the safety supervision and management of special equipment.

Special equipment:
Special equipment is divided into pressure-bearing special equipment and electromechanical special equipment. Pressure-bearing special equipment mainly includes boilers, pressure vessels (including gas cylinders), and pressure pipelines. Electromechanical special equipment mainly includes elevators, lifting machinery, passenger ropeways, large amusement facilities, and special motor vehicles within the site (factory).

As of the end of 2016, there were 495 comprehensive inspection institutions for special equipment in China, including 300 inspection institutions affiliated with quality inspection departments, 195 industry inspection institutions and enterprise self-inspection institutions. In addition, there are: 47 type test institutions, 452 non-destructive testing institutions, 1935 gas cylinder inspection institutions, 408 safety valve calibration institutions, and 209 lifting machinery inspection institutions for housing construction sites and municipal engineering sites.
